The Seed

It's easy to sin
But when the devil knows your dead heaven hath no remorse
To be embedded within love for love and teach youth of such force
We become preachers
But "who heals the healer"?
Who teaches the teacher
In a world of dictation we make revelations of evil temptation
Facing eachother through emptiness we become frozen in time
Contentment of Cain and able
Reluctant to change bc we fear tomorrow but have no problem holding onto yesterday
Grieving our loves through others wrong we refuse to see our sin
Everything is easy when we get it easy
But how is easy is sin?
When the outcome is the universe tearing us from within
We never sleep
We never eat
We just rest and dwell upon a misfortunate deed
The seed

  1. Girl, you outdid yourself with this one. I felt it. One of my favorite poems that you have written. Keep building. Keep shining. You have the gift. I am proud.

  2. I took quite a bit from this piece.

It is a mirror placed in front of both the Poet, the Reader and those that would hear it read aloud all at once.

It examines those who implore that we look high for where our help comes from; questioning whether or not they actually believe enough in themselves or just enough for the believers under them to remain as such. It even goes further in questioning if said people even think to look as high as those they inspire to do the same.

This piece in a manner dispels the notion that sin is relative; instead making it wholly everyone's issue:

"In a world of dictation we make revelations of evil;" telling true to form stories of what will happen to all who would find themselves privy to what is now a norm in our days:

"facing each other in emptiness we become frozen in time;" so hollow that one's perception of the other wouldn't substantiate any reason for change nor facilitate the means at which this change were to take place.

This is painful poignancy at work, Evelyn.

This piece scrubs and scolds those of us who would have our sin compared to those of a different variance as well as those of us who would condemn that which we practice incessantly; making sure that even if we char the land whole in a pledge against iniquity, we still hold onto that one seed that ensures that it always has somewhere to lay it's roots.

This is the material I've fallen in love with from you, Storm.
